Around two weeks near New Orleans, Louisiana, then two weeks in southeast Texas near Beaumont, about 80 miles East of Houston. This is back to the Garden District near New Orleans. Tours are no longer done at Lafayette Cemetary #1. Made it to Bourbon Street again. This is probably the 11th of March. The streets and all bars and shops along Bourbon street are INSANELY alive with activity. This is shooting into New Orleans City Park along Marconi Boulevard. At 1500 acres, it is a HUGE, beautiful park, just over half-again as large as Central Park in New York. Another shot along Marconi Boulevard beside New Orleans City Park. It is around 2:00 in the afternoon and about 70 degrees as I recall. Nearly perfect weather! On Canal Street, north of downtown New Orleans and quite a bit north of the French Quarter. Looks like this sign has caught some serious hurricane winds!! One more trip out by New Orleans City Park. Back to Lake Ponchartrain. We're on our way westward! The weather was nearly ALL awful on our way to Beaumont on March 17, 2024. Just a look out the passenger window, 3/17/24. Pretty ugly. We saw this at least twice today. Yes, that is THREE cars, linked together in ONE tow, with two tow bars....! This is March 20, 2024. I just had a blowout of my rear tire and am stranded alongside the road about a mile away from the RV. I'm waiting for a tow truck lined up through AAA. Very flat, off the rim. I'm embarrassed that I forget this guy's name, because he was the EPITOME of patience and friendliness. Got the bike safely transferred to the tire-replacement place too! Back on the road near Beaumont, Texas. Walmart is up ahead of me somewhere....! Please see a couple of the videos that I made alongside of the highways up to Beaumont, or down to Port Arthur, each about 20 miles from our RV spot.
