Here we are from 12/18/23 - 1/7/24 -- Our time in and around Venice, Florida, down to the Florida Keys. So much to do and SEE! Bailey-Bailey! A Christmas shirt for Gloria. These fellows are everywhere, and fairly approachable. I was wishing I was filming him in video, because he took off in flight RIGHT after I snapped this photo. Phenomenal sight. We rode around Ramblers Rest RV park and stopped right beside the border on the east side, the Mayakka River. We had the binoculars out for alligator looking. You see him in the distance? A view of the pool at Ramblers Rest. It's a good day to be a dog here in the LaGris traveling house. I'm on my way out to Saint Armands Circle just west of Sarasota, Florida. Stopped for a few pics here. Arrived at Saint Armands Circle. Gloria worked at this jewelery store from 2003 to 2005, but there was no one inside who I knew from back then. On my way back from Saint Armands Circle. This was just a lovely entry to one of the condo-complexes along my route. This must be Saturday, December 30th. I took a ride out beyond our usual drives of Highway 41 near and through Venice, to a brand new residential area with some spectacular homes. This one had an open house so I went in. Gorgeous. They were asking 1.4 million. In or around our areas near Seattle this would be 3.5 I bet. More of the open house house. More of the open house house. More of the open house house. More of the open house house. It's January 1, 2024 and we are on our way to the Florida Keys. The road seems to stretch out in front of us for miles an miles. Again. And again. We have just passed Marathon, Florida, about half-way out in the Florida Keys. This is the "Seven Mile Bridge". I rode is several times on the scooter, and it is closer to 7.8. Phenomenal thing to see. It's now January 2, 2024 and I've ridden out to Key West, about a 45 mile ride from our site at Sunshine Key. This is Mallory Square, a beautiful place with shops, street performers, and myriads of activities leading up to the sunset every night. Hope to go again this year! Another view of Mallory Square. I don't remember seeing this when we were here in 2002. We played Bingo on Tuesday night, January 2nd. I won one game! Pretty funny. I rode down to Bahia Honda State Park on the 3rd of January. It is only about 2 miles from our RV park at Sunshine Key. Beautiful beaches. These fellows are EVERYWHERE. Even in grocery store parking lots shopping center parking lots....
